The Greatness and Limits of Animals

I'm not a photographer at all and never claimed to be, so I occasionally allow myself to post frankly unsuccessful shots... and this is that moment.

Still, large livestock are frightening... astonishing in their power. God, and these huge, fleshy creatures eat nothing but grass. What injustice? Why can't I build that much muscle tissue just by eating grass... ? free?

I liked the contact zoo I once visited in Murmansk... but now I know my attitude to what I saw here in #KorelskyZoo. To pity or not to pity - that is the question. I don't think the animals are much worried about being in conventional confines. Many sort of live by foraging for sustenance and risk their lives often enough to be worried and upset by a kind of captivity.
