How different "talk" is in our lives. A person talking mindlessly can talk nonsense, and you, with a smile and a twinkle in your eye, smile back at him. You don't even hear what he is talking about, but you enjoy watching him, hearing his voice and seeing his facial expressions, gestures... It's just nice, very nice, isn't it?!
And, on the contrary, there is the eternal talk about work and hard fate, the restless bosses and annoying colleagues. Again you don't hear, but you nod, as if to let him know that you share the speaker's indignation and resentment. So, by the way, he doesn't really need your attention and desire to help in any way... you're just a grateful ear right now, nothing more. It's not nice, is it?!
Talk to me about everything:
How Toronto got rained out,
Like we used to name a puppy,
Just please talk.David Bowie songs sing,
And another enlighten poem,
Talk to me about everything,
Just please talk.Don't be sad and don't be sad,
That's my advice to you.
And please come,
When the first snow falls.I can really help.

And even though there's a lot of things you can't accept,
When it gets too much to bear,
I'll be waiting for you very much.
Why is it so? Because, if we go into the subtleties, in both situations there is someone who is not satisfied with this kind of communication aka monologue. But at the same time it is perceived and accepted as absolutely normal. Interesting... some kind of condescension.
The world is not divided into black and white. There are no listeners and talkers between people. Those who hear your every word, feel with their skin every note of intonation and immerse with you in the experience of your words are not just "grateful ears", not even just a good person... they are real and sincere feelings! Only real feelings have no time boundaries, no thresholds of "before" and "after" - they are infinitely alive and gratuitous. A year, three, five or even 10 years from now, you will be very much welcome....
