The northern sun is deceiving. And this is the thought that came to mind when I saw this picture. People are like the northern sun - they shine, but they do not warm at all. Words are too often at odds with actions. © “Time passes, but the spoken word remains.” L.N. Tolstoy.
At the same time, real deeds are not seldom devalued if they are not supported by epithets and loud statements. It is possible to speak beautifully and emotionally about one's intentions as much as one wants, without doing even a good half of it to support one's words.
We can't read minds and ask to talk about desires. And this very complex game of two scales, when only simultaneous convergence keeps the balance from breaking. And asking is a very different picture of things. Yes, we easily and even sometimes with pleasure do what we are asked, but is it not a favor in the eyes of the one asking?! The realization of our request in a different form than we have imagined will not have the proper effect for either one or the other.
Don't forgive...do it yourself! Do better than the best! Don't start if you've had enough. Don't talk, don't promise if only words will end it. Let your sunshine not only brighten, but truly warm. May it make you smile and be happier than anything else!
