Gadget repair: software vs modular

17.09.2021

And here's another story to follow up on the previous post. About the cost! An example in favor of my assumption... This is the #SamsungNP300, so not my favorite. And, as you know, my favorite LG Gram..... So, to get to the "insides" of the latter I needed to remove only 6 screws, removing the cover without any effort.

How was the first one? Ha! Let's get to the quality. The first four screws to remove the first cover. But! No, no, no. It doesn't come off, it slides sideways! Take a wild guess. What's next? 10-12 more screws to torture and try to unlatch the second cover around the perimeter. 20 Minutes and victory!

Dust cleaned, thermostat replaced, additional memory module installed, HDD replaced with SSD (as primary), Caddy installed so the ancient DVD device doesn't take up space, and HDD instead.

Still, I have always been pleasant and much more interesting program repair, where you have to turn on your head and think about options and ways to solve the problem. Modular repair is boring. Keep your gadgets up to date morally and technically!
