Laptop upgrade

Samsung NP300V5A laptop has been neglected and not used for a long time. During this time it managed to become obsolete. In addition to the weak on the hardware (at the time of diagnosis) was revealed a lot of "junk" software, rad of which could conflict with each other. For example, installed several antivirus applications, browsers. Running until the laptop was fully loaded took a very long time - it took up to 5 minutes, sometimes more. In addition, the laptop did not work from the battery. Therefore, it was decided to upgrade and do the following within the minimum budget:

• Add 4GB of RAM.
• Install an SSD as the primary disk.
• Replace the thermal paste and clean the dust.
• Replace the battery.
• Install the latest version of Windows PRO.
• Install the minimum required set of software.
• Replace the DVD drive on the Caddy.

To save user data, the HDD was moved to the DVD drive compartment, which at the end of 2021 only a few unique users will need. A 240 GB SSD was installed as the main disk. As an operating system, Windows 7 Home Basic x64 was replaced by Windows 10 Pro x64. An additional 4GB RAM module with similar specifications was installed to ensure that the memory works in dual-channel mode.

As a result, the performance of the notebook has been transformed beyond recognition. Startup speed to full boot of the notebook now does not take even a minute. All user data is on a separate disk (old 2.5' HDD), which was named "Data", and applications and system are installed on the new SSD. The notebook can now be fully and happily used for at least 3 more years.
