The mystique of memories and feelings

10.03.2019

If happiness is somehow understandable, because this phenomenon or emotion has a definition, which everyone knows for himself, then... another feeling, it is even difficult to define or explain.

Everyone is likely to categorize themselves into one particular group of people: kinesthetic, auditory, visual, or digital. It's a bit simpler here, though there are doddies of other perceptions in each of us besides the primary and predominant one. But I'm talking about that state of being immersed in a place that has incomprehensibly arisen in your head.

It doesn't matter if you smell a smell, if you see a frame from a movie, maybe you just hear a sound... the immersion is so deep that you become afraid for your adequacy. The hypertrophied feeling in my case is most likely caused by the deprivation of the other, but... What do you call this kind of immersion, when one tiny detail creates an incredibly large array of all kinds of perceptions from all sides? When you see a room from Soviet times, you find yourself somewhere there, you smell the smell of summer, you hear the noise of cars and tree leaves, the voices of children in the street. You immediately understand which room is which and what furniture is in them. At the same time, your eyes are open and you can actually hear what is happening around you.

For a moment it throws you into a fever, you come back and you don't understand what it was... Probably similar is experienced by those whose feelings are broken, whose passion has turned into ashes, and whose emotions have evaporated, only leaving a stain like gasoline on a puddle. Or not! In a case like this, you begin to remember the explicit story, the words, the touch, those real feelings and passion... Abruptly you "resurface" like a dog shaking off the astringent memories and find yourself in reality. The real, though burned in the past, is explicable. The atmosphere in which one finds oneself suddenly is akin to mysticism and.... it is frightening.
