Went to #PoetryEvening today for the first time. I like poetry and I think a lot of people have noticed that from the posts on my profile from #VideoVoetry. These poems were particularly well liked. Why? Yes, in many poems we find ourselves, the life we have experienced at one time or another. It's another confirmation that we're all boringly the same....
The poem is touching, especially when it is read by the author. For me the emotion of each word is important, and only the author is able to convey it with his voice and pauses. A poem is a huge emotion of the events of not just one day. It is practically a story and, at times, a life.... The beauty of the poem is that without water in each word there is a depth of emotion from which the conclusion is built. A conclusion in the form or format of a kind of sip of either air or moisture. A sip of which is like an epiphany. Somehow it becomes easier, even if there is still a burden on your soul.
A poem is a summary of a book, a psychological drama, or a set of sessions with a psychologist. I have a dozen more poems bookmarked that I'd like to publish in my posts.
