Erudition versus degradation

It's amazing how addictive the television game "The Weakest Link" has proven to be. And here we go... 3 consecutive episodes lasting ~40 mins. as in 8 minutes each. How clearly you wake up and realize that you know nothing, with each new question from the host... also clearly envy for those who have such excellent erudition, answering one question after another, when these very questions are from different spheres.

It seems to me that I, being in the intermediate generation of degradation, am still capable of understanding and answering something intelligible to at least some percentage of the program's questions. I am convinced that the current generation is the absolute opposite of the older one, whose answers are astounding. A person who knows history, philosophy, politics and modern trends is a standard that everyone should pay attention to. Alas, man is getting dumber, living more and more by instincts and reflexes. People are so lazy to think that it is easier for them to ask a primitive question to another person than to turn on their mind... logic. In the heads of many today is just a gel-like substance with a fruity flavor/smell... well, to make it feel good. Ugh! Before you bring anyone outside to your "problem" or issue...just think!
