New vs. old: fear or developmental perspective?

The new is the well forgotten old. Or is it? Why is there a certain fear or apprehension of the new? More often it manifests itself with age and... apparently, I've gotten older. The reluctance to change conflicts with the desire to learn, to learn new things and to develop, to experience new difficulties, to find solutions to new problems and answers to new questions.

Why? Is it due to ignorance? Hardly, because past experience serves as a safety cushion. Rather, it has to do with speed, or rather with the time characteristic, when it will again take some time to get into the comfort zone. Surprisingly, and there are those who do not like to be on the "platform" for long. In addition, the feeling of helplessness and uselessness becomes more acute, when you drop everything out of your hands like a child.

As you think about the benefits and possibilities of the new, imagine the prospect that is possible for you. That level of comfort, a bigger "platform", standing confidently and securely! Try, even if there is a risk of being wrong! The possibilities are not endless.
