Is the phrase "Everyone chooses his own road" still relevant today? Are we not the ones being chosen now?
Someone, having taken the plunge, is confidently in the familiar place he occupied long ago. How to be now? Who now can say with certainty about the risk, that the case is true and productive? Probably dangerous and risky, yes.
The desire of one to leave the city, of the other to leave the country, is probably due to the fact that hope has been lost. Alas, there was no faith to speak of even earlier.

I disagree, a change of location does not indicate lost hope ) or faith.
